Does this sound familiar?

Alcohol use and recovery can look different for everyone. You might recognise some of these.

For adults, and for the partners and family members around them.

Drinking that's become hard to manage

Alcohol use that's affecting your health, relationships, work or sense of yourself.

Trying to stay on track with recovery

Support to maintain the changes you've already made, and manage the moments that put them at risk.

A partner or family member's drinking is affecting you

Support for the people around someone with alcohol use issues, not just the person drinking.

Old patterns resurfacing under stress

Recognising what's putting recovery at risk before it takes hold again.

Shame or isolation around drinking

A calm, non-judgemental space to talk about it openly.

Rebuilding after a difficult period

Working out what a steady, sustainable way forward looks like for you.

Wherever you are in the process, whether you're considering change, actively working on it, or maintaining recovery, there is no wrong place to start.

How counselling helps

Practical relapse prevention

Recognise triggers and patterns, and build strategies that hold up under pressure.

Evidence-based approaches

Drawing on motivational interviewing, ACT and solution-focused approaches.

Common questions

Is this counselling or a rehab program?

This is talk-based counselling, not a residential or clinical rehabilitation program. It suits people who want confidential, ongoing support with alcohol use, recovery or relapse prevention alongside their everyday life.

Can my partner or family member come too?

Yes. Ken works with individuals, and also offers appointments for partners and adult family members who are affected by someone else's alcohol use or recovery.

Do I need to have stopped drinking before I book?

No. You can book wherever you are right now, whether you are considering change, actively working on it, or maintaining recovery.

Do I need a referral?

No referral is required. You can book directly online or get in touch with us to arrange a first conversation.

How much does it cost?

A Standard Appointment is $169.40 and a couple or family session is $193.60 (60 minutes) or $290.40 (90 minutes), privately billed. Self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants can book NDIS Counselling at $156.16 (60 minutes). Discovery Family Therapy is not a registered NDIS provider.

Are sessions available online?

Yes. Sessions with Ken are available in person in South Perth and online across Australia by secure video, including for FIFO families.
