Support for Children, Teens and Parents
Zaynab works with children, teenagers and parents when anxiety, big emotions, school stress, friendships, body image or family changes are affecting daily life.

Her work is practical and developmentally appropriate, helping young people feel understood while supporting parents with clearer ways to respond at home.

Teen Counselling
For teenagers navigating anxiety, low confidence, identity, self esteem, body image, friendship stress, school pressure, emotional overwhelm or family conflict.
Play-Based Therapy
Creative and play-based counselling for children who may not yet have the words to explain what they are feeling, needing or trying to communicate through behaviour.
Parent Guidance
For parents and carers who want to better understand their child, respond to emotional or behavioural concerns, and build supportive strategies at home.
A Child-Centred Approach
Zaynab takes time to understand what may be sitting beneath emotions, behaviour or withdrawal, rather than focusing only on what is happening on the surface.

A little more about Zaynab
Zaynab brings warmth, energy and genuine curiosity to her work with children, teenagers, parents and families. She is especially interested in helping young people feel seen, understood and supported as they make sense of big emotions, family changes, school stress or experiences that may be difficult to explain.
My most meaningful achievements
My experience includes working within the Department of Communities, Child Protection, supporting children, young people and families with complex emotional, behavioural and relational needs.

This work strengthened my skills in psychosocial and risk assessment, collaborative planning and multidisciplinary care.
What makes me unique
I work alongside the Department of Communities, Child Protection, supporting children, young people and families through complex emotional, behavioural and relational challenges.

This has shaped my understanding of safety, trust, resilience and what children may need when life has felt uncertain or overwhelming.
One quirky fact about me
I have a soft spot for organisation.

A well-written to-do list and the satisfaction of ticking things off are oddly calming.

NDIS Participants Welcome
Discovery Family Therapy supports NDIS participants on self-managed and plan-managed plans. We are not a registered NDIS provider, which means funding must be managed by you or your plan manager — not the NDIA directly. If you are using your NDIS plan for counselling or therapeutic support, contact us to discuss whether we are the right fit.
If appointments are limited, we can still help you find the right support.
Book an appointment with Zaynab
For children under 13, the first appointment is usually with a parent or carer so Zaynab can understand what has been happening and what support may help at home, school and in sessions.
For teenagers, the first appointment may be with the teen, a parent, or both, depending on their age, needs and what feels appropriate. From there, Zaynab can guide the best next step.
Our team includes practitioners from different professional backgrounds. Each practitioner works within their own qualifications, professional memberships, registrations, and scope of practice.
