Krasna Phillips
Counsellor: Couples, Families, Grief & Loss South Perth
Areas of Focus
Grief, loss, depression, and major life changes can quietly reshape how you see yourself, your relationships, and your future. They can drain energy, confidence, and meaning, especially when you’re still expected to keep going for others.
Krasna offers counselling that is calm, grounded, and deeply respectful of each client’s pace. Her work is informed by both professional training and the lived experience of profound loss while raising a young family. She understands how grief and emotional pain can slowly erode a sense of self and how healing is often about rebuilding, not fixing.
Counselling in English or Croatian.
What Krasna can support you with
Krasna supports adults, families, and older adults experiencing a wide range of concerns, including:
-
Grief and loss (bereavement, complex grief, adjustment to loss)
-
Depression, low mood, and loss of identity
-
Anxiety, stress, and emotional overwhelm
-
Life transitions and major change
-
Relationship and interpersonal difficulties
-
Parenting stress and family challenges
-
Work-related stress and burnout
-
Anger management and emotional regulation
-
Trauma-related and PTSD
Support can begin wherever you are — whether you’re seeking clarity, relief, or simply a place to be heard.
Krasna creates a calm, steady place to begin again.
Bilingual counselling: English and Croatian
Krasna is fluent in Croatian (reading, speaking, and writing), a language passed down by her parents, who immigrated to Australia before she was born.
For many clients, speaking in their first language allows for deeper emotional expression and a greater sense of cultural understanding. Krasna offers counselling in English or Croatian, and welcomes clients to move between both if that feels most natural.
Krasna's Approach
Krasna’s counselling practice has been shaped by personal experience of rebuilding life after significant change. Through reflection and healing, she came to a place of acceptance and quiet steadiness — an experience that strengthened her belief that every person holds inner resources, even when they feel unreachable.
In her work, Krasna supports clients to reconnect with clarity, meaning, and their own sense of strength, offering a space that is compassionate, thoughtful, and emotionally safe.
Krasna’s approach is integrative and client-centred, drawing on evidence-based and mindfulness-informed practices tailored to each individual. Her work commonly integrates:
-
Person-centred counselling
-
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
-
Solution-Focused approaches
-
Mindfulness-based and compassionate practices
-
Body-aware and emotionally attuned support
The counselling relationship itself is central to her work. Clients are met with respect, warmth, and genuine presence — not pressure to move faster than they are ready to.
A Little About Krasna
What Krasna values as a counsellor
Krasna genuinely values the opportunity to meet and connect with her clients and feels honoured to walk alongside them as they navigate the challenges they bring to their work together. Building a genuine, client-centred connection is at the very heart of her practice, and she believes this relationship is central to meaningful and supportive counselling.
What is unique about Krasna as a counsellor
Krasna feels incredibly fortunate to have been taught to read, speak, and write in Croatian by her parents, who immigrated to Australia before she was born. This is one of the special gifts they gave her, and it has stayed with her throughout her life.
Being able to offer counselling in both English and Croatian allows Krasna to support clients in a way that feels familiar and deeply understood. She has seen how meaningful it can be for Croatian clients to express themselves in their mother tongue, speaking freely and openly with someone who understands not only their language, but also their cultural background and heritage.
Krasna’s goals
Krasna’s hope for every client she supports is that they are able to reach their goals and live their life as fully as possible. She understands that life brings many challenges at different stages, and that gaining clarity and taking thoughtful steps forward can make a meaningful difference in how people move through them.
Most impressive achievements
Personally, Krasna’s greatest achievement has been becoming a mother to her two wonderful sons, who are now adults.
Professionally, her journey has included many rewarding roles in management, leadership, and human resources. Her lived experiences, alongside these professional roles, ultimately led her to become a counsellor. Krasna believes that each step along the way has guided her toward supporting others, with her counselling practice sitting at the very heart of what she considers her greatest professional achievement.
One quirky fact
Crystals and plants are a big part of Krasna’s home. They help create a warm, grounded, and welcoming atmosphere.
