About Zaynab

Zaynab is a clinically trained counsellor with a strong foundation in psychology and a focus on supporting clients with complex emotional and relational needs. Her approach is calm, organised, and structured, ensuring each session is purposeful and grounded in evidence-based practice. She works carefully to identify the underlying patterns influencing a client’s wellbeing and use these insights to guide clear, effective therapeutic direction. She value professionalism, consistency, and offering a high standard of care to children, adolescents, and adults.

My Favourite Thing About Being A Counsellor

What I value most about being a counsellor is the opportunity to sit with people in moments that truly matter. There is something deeply meaningful about supporting someone as they make sense of their experiences, find language for their emotions, and begin to see themselves with greater clarity and compassion. I appreciate the trust clients place in me during these conversations, and I am continually inspired by the resilience, insight, and courage that emerges when people feel safe enough to explore their inner world. Being part of that process — even in the smallest way — is a privilege I don’t take lightly.

What is Unique About Me as a Counsellor?

What sets my practice apart is the combination of a calm, grounded presence with a clinically informed and culturally attuned approach. I work carefully to understand the patterns influencing a client’s emotions and relationships, and use these insights to guide structured, thoughtful, and personalised therapeutic support that promotes genuine, sustainable change.

What are my goals?

My professional goals are to continue building strong expertise in trauma recovery, relational therapy, and youth mental health. I am focused on refining my clinical skills and strengthening my understanding of the processes that support long-term emotional wellbeing. I am also advancing my work in child-focused and play-based therapies through specialised training and ongoing professional consultation. Ultimately, my aim is to provide therapy that is evidence-based, precise, and tailored to each client’s individual needs.

Most Impressive Achievements

Some of my key professional achievements include completing formal training in psychology and counselling, and continuing to expand my clinical knowledge through targeted, evidence-based professional development. I have gained extensive experience through my work in the disability sector and within the Department of Communities, where I supported individuals and families with diverse and complex needs. These roles strengthened my clinical judgement, risk assessment skills, and ability to remain steady and solution-focused in high-pressure situations. This combination of academic training and frontline experience forms a solid foundation for the thoughtful, informed, and effective therapeutic approach I bring to my work today.

One Quirky Fact About Me

One quirky fact about me is that I love a good to-do list — I’ll even make one for things I’ve already done, just to tick them off.
