Who are the therapists

Discovery Family Therapy collaborates with qualified and accredited counselling practitioners who specialise in a range of fields, including but not limited to family therapy, relationships, parenting, grief and loss, body image, child and teen therapy, family domestic violence, and gender-affirming practices.

Our therapists take a person-centred approach, prioritising your needs, values, and experiences. We treat every client with the utmost respect and autonomy, recognizing that you are the expert in your own life and supporting you in your decision-making process.

To provide the highest standard of care, our therapists engage in ongoing professional development, staying up to date with the latest therapeutic approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Strength-Based Practices, Positive Psychology, Gestalt Therapy, and more.

What if my therapist isn't a good fit?

Yes, you can absolutely change your therapist; it's perfectly acceptable to switch therapists if you feel they aren't the right fit for your needs, aren't helping you make progress, or if you simply want a different approach to therapy.

Please discuss this with your therapist and we will support you in finding a therapist that suits your needs.

No-Show and Cancellation Fees:

Our counsellors have scheduled their day to ensure they are available for their clients. Please note that non-attendance fees and late cancellation fees will apply. Cancellation fees are now included to discourage last-minute cancellations and non-attendance.

·Cancellations with more than 24h notice have no cancellation fee.

·Cancellations with less than 24h notice will incur a 100% cancellation fee.

·Non-Attendance: Failure to cancel your appointment will result in a 100% no-show fee

Booking consecutive appointments

Your therapist will discuss booking consecutive appointments with you.
It is encouraged to book appointments in advance to ensure you do not miss out on receiving the treatment you need promptly.

Online sessions are pre-paid. You will receive a subscription link to ensure you do not need to worry about manually paying for therapy. Each session's fee will be deducted the business day before your session. If your session is on a Monday, the booking fee will be deducted on the Friday before your appointment.
